Building Capacity for Transformative Action

The Maangamizi Counteraction/Planet Repairs Advocates Programme equips individuals and communities with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to implement Planet Repairs by identifying Maangamizi Crime Scenes, developing strategic interventions to stop the ongoing harm, and transforming these sites into Glocal Reparatory Justice Alternative Progression Zones that demonstrate Planet Repairs in action.

Programme Overview

• Implement the interconnected dimensions of Planet Repairs—reparatory, environmental, and cognitive justice

• Take direct action to advance holistic reparatory justice that heals relationships with people and Mother Earth

• Document Maangamizi Crime Scenes as evidence for comprehensive Planet Repairs approaches

• Develop targeted interventions that counteract the Maangamizi's impact on communities and ecosystems

• Build Community Self-Repairs initiatives that model Planet Repairs principles in practice

• Create local-to-global connections that strengthen movements for holistic justice

• Establish Alternative Progression Zones as living demonstrations of Planet Repairs frameworks.

The Advocate's Toolkit

At the heart of our programme is the Maangamizi Counteraction/Planet Repairs Toolkit—a dynamic, evolving resource designed with and for community advocates.

Becoming an Advocate

The programme includes:

• Initial intensive training sessions

• Ongoing mentorship and support

• Regular community of practice gatherings

• Advanced skill-building workshops

• Access to a network of fellow advocates

• Opportunities to contribute to toolkit development.

Current Status

The Maangamizi Counteraction/Planet Repairs Toolkit is currently in active development through a collaborative, community-based process. We are working with experienced advocates, community leaders, researchers, and educators to ensure the toolkit reflects diverse knowledge, experiences, and methodologies.

• Participating in toolkit testing and feedback sessions

• Sharing case studies and best practices

• Contributing resources and methodologies
